Some bad news everyone... It seems that due to scheduling conflicts and prior commitments, director Guillermo del Toro will no longer be able to work on the 2 Hobbit film adaptations as it's director, but he will still be co-writing the script. You can read more about it here. Along with a small bit on some things he managed to finish in pre-production here.
This is too bad as fans were greatly anticipating seeing what he would do with the Lord of the Rings universe. A new director has not been announced. Peter Jackson is still producing these films, and it's possible that he may pick up the reigns himself. Guess we'll have to wait and see where it goes from here...
In the meantime, fans of The Lord of the Rings can enquire at our store about the books as well as artbooks from the Trilogy of films.
