This Friday, August 2nd there will be a book launch party for 'By Chrom' by Rachael Kahn at 862 Richmond Street West, Suite 300. There will be a gorgeously savage (and flexitarian!) spread, provided by Urban Acorn Catering; a brutal cash bar; mighty-thewed audio and visuals; a limited edition, garnet and sapphire tinted poster free with admission; and a few magnificent barbarian-themed photo-ops. Standard admission is $10, or for $20 attendees can also pick up a signed copy of the book. People can reserve their tickets in advance via Bento Miso, or pay cash at the door.
By Crom is an autobiographical comic featuring Conan the Barbarian as my spirit guide.
Growing out of a newfound love of swords, sorcery and especially sandaled barbarians, By Crom is my tribute not just to Robert E Howard’s hero, but moreso to those of us who need a little encouragement to conquer the daily challenges of our lives.
In this comic, Conan comes along for dog walks, doctor’s visits, school days and self-pity days, and brings, yes, his sword, but often simply his own perspective to my mundane problems.
By Crom is a joke-a-panel comic, and it has been published approximately weekly since January, 2012. The one-panel comics are browsable in their entirety on the By Crom tumblr.
