Silent Hill: Revelation currently filming in Toronto!

The sequel to the Silent Hill movie is now filming around Toronto and will also carry on in Galt. The new film which is a direct sequel to the first film is also an adaptation of the game 'Silent Hill 3.' A new director is on board, Michael J. Bassett, and stars Adelaide Clemens, whom some might remember from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. She plays Heather Mason. Sean Bean, who played Christopher DaSilva in the first film is returning as Harry Mason. Fans who've played the game will see the connection. Radha Mitchell who played Rose DaSilva in the first film will also be returning, as will Deborah Kara Unger as Dahlia. Another new members has been cast by the name of Kit Harrington whom many believe will portray the character Vincent.

The film's production also sees the return of Patrick Tatoupolos, who was the creature designer in the first film that brought to life the game's monsters including the famous Pyramid Head. The production is also trying to get the game's original composer Akira Yamaoka on board to compose some new music. The film began principal photography in Toronto a little more than a week ago. Plans are in place to move to Galt to shoot outdoor scenes. The film is being shot natively in stereoscopic 3-D.

While fans recognize the many departures the first film made, the new director hopes to bring the film universe more in line with the games, though for good or ill, the films and games will always have their differences. Let's hope for the best!
