The anime that's breaking box office records all throughout Asia, and which recently surpassed Hayao Miyazaki Studio Ghibli's 'Spirited Away's worldwide gross to become the Highest Grossing Anime Film Worldwide, still has yet to release in North America!

"As of this past week, Makoto Shinkai's your name. anime film has surpassed Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away film in worldwide box office earnings. According to the Box Office Mojo website, Shinkai's film has earned a total of US$281 million worldwide to beat Spirited Away's US$275 million.
In Japan, your name.'s domestic gross has yet to beat Spirited Away. As of Sunday, 143 days after it opened in Japan, your name. had earned 23.23 billion yen (about US$204 million), compared to Spirited Away's 30.8 billion yen (about US$270 million). That still makes your name. the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, the second highest-grossing Japanese film, and the second highest-grossing anime film."
